Former
Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission, Timi Alaibe, cast
his vote at his Igbainwari community in Kolokuma-Opokuma council area.
Timi Alaibe
being accredited at his Igbainwari ward polling unit
His
accreditation took place an hour earlier at the polling unit 03 at Igbainwari
community square Ward 7.
Timi Alaibe,
who came out amidst cheers from his kinsmen, also inspected the conduct of the
accreditation exercise in other units in its area which went on smoothly.
Okpoama –
The accreditation of voters has started trickling at Brass Ward 4 which is in
Okpoama with card reader unable to read some voters leading to filling of
incidents forms.
The exercise
at Unit 2, Ward 4 which started at 9am had only three successfully accredited
voters after one hour.
Very few
persons were at the St. Paul School I for the exercise, frustration is on the
faces of those who have unsuccessfully passed fit by the card readers.
Despite the
hiccup, the few persons who turned up are willing to wait patiently until they
are successful.
The
situation was however different at Unit 4, Ward 4 as there was a huge turnout
both young and aged.
67 year old
Mama Tuakuma Osobugha stated that they were eager to vote so they will to turn
up promptly.
The
atmosphere is peaceful as only few security officials were present as voters
purport themselves in an orderly manner.
As at
10.39am when Vanguard visited aged persons sat on chairs waiting to be
accredited, others wait patiently in canopies.
The exercise
is generally peaceful in Okpoama, Timipre Silva, APC candidate’s hometown. More
persons were trooping in at the time of this report
